Why do pickup trucks keep getting bigger and bigger? - 2009 overtaking statistics

The other day I was attacked a Ford F150 in 2009 on the road, and it was massive. He took a path of general circulation and could not even have the damn thing when he was faced by me.

What is the obsession of the United States with massive, heavy trucks, and why they get each year? Breathe domain? Power? Masculinity? Frankly, I wonder.

My dad has a F150 1988, and in its operation 22 years ago still works.
